The Women’s team started the season with an excellent away performance at the Gallagher Stadium against Maidstone Development.
After an even opening 10 minutes during which Becca Griffiths made a couple of fine saves for Gravesham, a cross from the left was met with a fine header from Claire Hylands, which put the visitors in front.
Midway through the half, Rachel Stevens added a second goal and on the stroke of half time Daisy Wickenden added a third to put Gravesham in control.
The second half saw three further goals through Daisy W, Rachel S and Abby Hancock as Gravesham dominated.
This was an excellent all round team performance. Becca was in control in goal. the back four of Fionnuala, Tillie, Sabrina and Leah were solid in defence.
We played five in midfield where Claire, Abby, Brooke Law, Brooke Hutson and Daisy were all excellent and Rachel Stevens had a fine match leading the line.
Brooke Law received player of the match and a warm afternoon with no outfield subs available, Thanks also to Megan on standby to go in goal if needed.
