The results of the long festive break for the girls showed in the first half of this match and Gravesham were a distant second place against top of the league Danson Sports. Danson played much the better football and deserved to lead. The half ended with Danson being 6 nil up. A lot of unhappy Gravesham faces.
A halftime break and a suggestion from our captain to change things around a bit at the back and Gravesham Girls put in a much better performance in the second half. Some crunching tackles and a real desire to get the ball and then attack the opposition was great to see.
The second half saw us score 2 goals. A fantastic free kick from Tamryn, just outside the penalty area saw the ball fly straight into the top corner. Resulting in a stunned looked from the free kick taker, quickly turned to a huge smile. Aisling continued her goal scoring streak with another one this match, taking her run to 7 consecutive games.
The match finished at 2-9 but if the second half is anything to go by the girls can be a match for any team. Roll on next league game.
