After a difficult first half playing uphill and conceding 3 goals,the ladies staged an excellent second half recovery and ultimately were unfortunate not to achieve at least a draw.
Jo performed well in goal throughout making some excellent saves,whilst Becky M. Hollie,Tillie and Ollie all put in strong performances,in particular after switching to a back 3 for the second half,helped with a late appearance from Emma,
In midfield Miya put in some great tackles in a holding midfield role,with Hannah,Claire Brooke H ,Brooke L Imy and Nicole all fighting for every ball
Abi,Lucie and Erin all led the line well in attack with Abi especially impressive .
Nicole ,having moved into midfield after playing centre half,in the first half scored our first goal from just inside the penalty area stroking the ball calmly into the net to the left of the Castle Colts keeper.
Abi then produced a stunnning shot from distance to make it 3 2 and wih a miute to go Gravesham were awarded a penalty.
The Castle Colts goalie having saved the spot kick then tipped Abi’s shot as the ball rebounded to her over the bar ,with the final whistle going shortly afterwards.
Despite the defeat ,the second half performance showed what this team is capable of,and with growing confidence the future looks bright
